There are many groups and studies happening in our local health district. We study treatment methods and ways of providing care, including whether or not the treatment or care is acceptable to women.

To be involved in a study:
  • Talk to your Midwife, Nurse or Doctor and ask if there are any studies you can participate in.
  • Contact a research midwife - find phone number on a study poster in the waiting room.
  • Email WHITU to ask if there is a study available to you SWSLHD-WHITU@health.nsw.gov.au
  • Have a look at the “Research Projects” drop down on the WHITU web page https://inghaminstitute.org.au/whitu/

What is WHITU?

The Women’s Health Initiative Translational Unit (WHITU) is a group of clinicians, midwives, scientists, and allied health professionals who are working to improve women’s health through medical research.
