Everyday Cooking Project 2022
The Everyday Cooking Pilot Project was designed in partnership with the University of Wollongong for parents of young children aged between 1 – 5 years. The project provides healthy food preparation knowledge and skills and helps parents learn to cook healthy, easy to prepare recipes through interactive group cooking lessons. The Everyday Cooking project was delivered by staff from two community organisations within SWSLHD - Creating Links (Bankstown) & CORE Community Services (Fairfield) and ran over 6 weeks.
The Everyday Cooking project was adapted from the ‘Cook in a Box’ model. ‘Cook in a Box’ is an existing cooking program for primary school aged students developed in line with the school curriculum and is designed for teachers to deliver. The program requires no cooking infrastructure and all materials and ingredients are supplied.
